Pendleton "Pen Joe" Joseph Gardner, 87 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Logan Memorial Hospital in Russellville, Kentucky. He was born on Saturday, June 9, 1923 in Butler County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Albert Gardner and the late Hattie Danks Gardner. He was the husband of Maxine Cook Gardner who survives. . He was a retired Mail Carrier with the U S Postal Service and a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Association. He served in the Army. He was a Veteran of World War II. Surviving are son, Dwight C. Gardner of Morgantown, KY, daughter, Maxie Joe Miller of Pelham, AL, brother, Robert "Pinkey" Gardner of Greenville, KY, sister, Hattie Ruth Shelton of Lewisburg, KY; 7 grand children; 7 great grand children. He was predeceased by son, Pendleton Douglas Gardner. A Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St. Lewisburg, Kentucky 42256 with the Rev. Wayne Dukes officiating. Interment will be in Gardner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at Price Funeral Home, Inc., 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg, Kentucky. Memorial contributions may be sent to Mt.
