Donnie Preston Smith

Donnie Preston Smith, 93 of Lewisburg, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Hospice House of Southern KY in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was born Thursday, February 4, 1932, the son of the late Mack Smith and the late Flora Hunt Smith. He was the husband of Mildred Smith of Lewisburg who survives. Donnie and Mildred were happily married for 74 years.

He was a truck driver for Southern States and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he taught Sunday school.

Donnie honorably served his country with pride in the United States Air Force. His dedication to duty was recognized through various commendations, including the Armed Forces Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.

Also surviving are two daughters, Rhonda Hinton of Hartford, KY, Cheri Pugh of Hopkinsville, KY; son, Ricky (Annette) Smith of Greenville, KY; brother, Raymond (Sandra) Smith of Greenville, KY; three granddaughters, Kelsey (Josh) Smith of Beaver Dam, KY, Rebecca (Andy) Burden of Jacksonville, FL, Darby (Josh) Pulley of Clarksville, TN; two grandsons, Brady (Rachel) Hinton of Morgantown, KY, Brett (Baleigh) Pugh of Hopkinsville, KY; three great-granddaughters, Parker Pulley of Clarksville, TN, Hallie Pulley of Clarksville, TN, Eden Hinton of Morgantown, KY; three great-grandsons, Joel Smith of Beaver Dam, KY, Jude Smith of Beaver Dam, KY, Ezra Hinton of Morgantown, KY.

He was predeceased by two son-in-laws, Jay Pugh and Mitch Hinton; five brothers, Eldred "E.L." Smith, Eugene Ralph Smith, Dewey Smith, Wesley Smith, Myron Smith; three sisters, Alta Bates, Jessie Smith, and Pauline Smith.

A funeral service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Price Funeral Home, Inc. located at 252 E. Green St., Lewisburg; with Bro. Tim Nugent officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Inc.
