Bobby Lee Oglesby

Bobby Lee Oglesby passed away at the age of 65 at his home in Canton, GA, on May 22, 2010. Son of the late Virgil and Nellie Cooper Oglesby, Mr. Oglesby also was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann and his brother, William. Born in Memphis, TN, Bobby grew up in Evansville, IN and Gainesville, FL. He then enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force, including a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he worked as a nurse in Atlanta with over thirty years of exemplary and caring service at West Paces Ferry and Emory University hospitals. Bobby is survived by his brothers, Virgil W. Oglesby (Grace) of Brandon, FL; James R. Oglesby (Doris) of Evansville, IN; sister, Betty Oglesby Whitescarver (Marion) of Yalaha, FL and their children, Keith Whitescarver (Jacqueline) of West Hartford, CT and Teri Whitescarver of Yalaha, FL; along with several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday (May 30, 2010) at Lewisburg Cemetery with the Rev. John Major officiating. Interment will be in Lewisburg Cemetery, Lewisburg, KY.
